The Castle Eden Story

Castle Eden Brewery has been a constant part of the north-east brewing scene since it was founded in 1826. Founded by John Nimmo and located in County Durham, under the Nimmo family, the brewery grew to an annual capacity of 75,000 barrels with an estate of 125 pubs.

Nic Hamilton Visits Powder Monkey Group’s Castle Eden Brewery

Powder Monkey Group were delighted to welcome Nic Hamilton and his BTCC car at their Castle Eden Brewery for an informal visit prior to the next round of BTCC at Croft this weekend. Nic and team were met by Andy Burdon, Group CEO, along with several of the Powder Monkey Group team, customers, friends and family, as well as Local MP Grahame Morris. Powder Monkey Group (PMG) Acquire Castle Eden Brewery (CEB)

The latest acquisition adds significant brewing capacity to the group’s existing sites. Castle Eden Brewery has concentrated on contract brewing to date. Powder Monkey Group intends to maintain those relationships and add brewing for their existing product lines. Importantly, they will resurrect the Castle Eden Brewing brand name throughout the area through increased focus on the beers that made CEB an important piece of local beer history.
